The overall theme is 1815 and the anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo. The area where the horses will be displayed is the town centre, which is themed as ‘Paradise Street’, a place of colour and interest, to entice you to explore, named after the area that soldiers would visit before leaving for the war, and when they came back; to the ladies of the night. The central installation will be by Theresa Smith and reflects the themes of war, conflict, camaraderie and the importance of place in the imagination.
