Callout for a Festival Producer
The Ramsgate Festival began in 2010 as A Summer Squall and changed its name in 2015. This multi-arts festival combines UK/international artists with locally-based professional practitioners. The aim – to show off the best of Ramsgate and the surrounding areas, to enthuse, enlighten and entertain our population, as well as provide a reason for others to come and enjoy this eastern tip of England. Last year we attracted over 20,000 people and this year’s plans include a move to partner with the annual Ramsgate Week sailing regatta, extending the festival to 23 – 31 July 201.
The role is a key position and will initially be 48 days over a period of six months, then is subject to review and a potential extension to a continuous post. The Festival Producer will build on our achievements and take the lead role in devising, developing and delivering the festival. Please note that the post is entirely dependent on the success of a funding bid to be finalised at the end of February.
The Festival Producer is responsible for dealing with all aspects of the festival’s programme and is the central source of leadership for logistics, marketing and delivery. The post holder will have the full support and back up of the existing voluntary project group and will need to be able to steer, encourage and support that group in order to deliver the festival.
