Winternights Procession


Join our fantastic, colourful procession at WINTERNIGHTS on Sunday 2 Winternights Viking celebrationNovember, from 3pm. 

The procession will gather by the old Motor Museum and go down the hill to the beach, setting off at 3.45pm.

You can make a boat to bring and maybe win the prize for Best Boat. We’ve got card cutouts you can collect FREE from either:

Ramsgate Visitor Information Centre on Harbour Parade (open 10am-4pm daily)

Ramsgate Society at 19 Harbour Street (open 10am-5pm Mon-Sat).

Or get dressed up! Come as a Viking or create a costume to go with the boat you’ve made and enter for the Best Costume prize (under 12s).

Judging will be at 3pm outside the old Motor Museum (Paragon, opp. Churchill Tavern, Ramsgate).  Chief Judge will be Viking Ralph (otherwise known as Mr Ramsgate).

Best Boat prize:  Family meal at the Royal Harbour Brasserie

Best Costume prize:  Voucher for Smythe’s and a cuddly Ramsgate Society teddy bear

The Procession will then commence at 3.45pm and go down to the beach where our 27ft long Viking longboat will be burned. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
