Winternights Boat Parade

Winternights Viking celebrationCelebrate Ramsgate’s connections to the sea by joining in our fantastic, colourful and musical parade at WINTERNIGHTS on Sunday 2 November.

First of all, make a boat! We’ve got card cutouts you can collect FREE from either:

Ramsgate Visitor Information Centre on Harbour Parade (open 10am-4pm daily)

Ramsgate Society at 19 Harbour Street (open 10am-5pm Mon-Sat).

Or just get creative and make a fantastical boat of your own. Our theme is Vikings, so see if you can use that to decide what sort of boat to make. The men at the Broadstairs Shed have made us a 27ft long Viking boat, which will be burned on the beach at the end of the parade.

For the parade on Sunday 2 November, bring your boats and get dressed up!  The parade, led by the Viper Corps Drummers, will commence at 3.30pm and go down to the seafront, leaving from the old Motor Museum (Paragon, opp. Churchill Tavern, Ramsgate). Children must be accompanied by an adult.

PRIZES:  Please arrive at 3pm for the judging, awarded for:
