A new year begins
For Ramsgate Arts, the end of 2016 was highlighted by the removal of the installation Perfugium Miseris from the harbour wall in the middle of December. Created by Theresa Smith of Mooch, it was the third public realm artwork developed for our annual arts festival, and one that was especially poignant and memorable, really hitting at the purpose of good public art – revealing layers and context to place, which engender discussion, discovery and a sense of pride or purpose.
We were delighted with this article in the Thanet Gazette and thank them for it. And now – what’s next?! We’re busy working on the Ramsgate Festival 2017 and welcome approaches, comments or donations, from all people interested in the future of our town! Just get in touch via this website.
