Scratch A Round is looking for entrepreneurial performance-makers

CALL FOR PERFORMERS/MAKERS AT LOOPING THE LOOP’S SCRATCH EVENT HOSTED @ ROUNDABOUT ON SUNDAY 11th OCTOBER 2015.

Looping the Loop festival is looking for applications for its scratch event Scratch A Round.

Following the success of Scratch Your Self at the Turner Contemporary in May, we are returning to Roundabout, a beautiful wooden theatre-in-the-round inside Margate’s Winter Gardens. We are looking for artists/performers and companies wanting to scratch up to 15 minutes of their work at any stage of development. We’ve hosted work from a huge variety of disciplines, from emerging artists to well-known companies. Dancers, writers and performance poets. Theatre makers, experimental artists and musicians. From masked and megaphoned musings on Margate to a one-on-one jukebox (via a 30 second punk gig in a lift). This is your opportunity to test a new idea in front of a friendly and supportive audience, gain feedback and feed your practice. Don’t be shy!

Venue: Roundabout, Margate’s Winter Gardens.

When: Sunday 11th October, 7.30pm.

We can offer small contributions to expenses, to be negotiated.

To apply: email jessica@tomthumbtheatre.co.uk with LTL Scratch  in the subject box.

Please send the following details:

  • Company/artist name and contact details including address.
  • Any relevant online links e.g website, twitter, youtube etc.
  • Title and length of piece, up to 150 words about it.
  • Short paragraph stating why you want to perform at Scratch A Round.
  • Deadline, Sunday 27th September.
Looping the Loop is part of the Collaborative Touring Network, a partnership between six different promoters across the UK, with the joint aim of inspiring a new generation of theatre goers, navigating across the country, taking on different guises in each participating town, presenting a combination of acclaimed productions from Battersea Arts Centre and locally produced shows. We are passionate about supporting locally produced work and are in the process of finding work to take to BAC in 2016, via events such as “Scratch A Round”.
